Korean group to support Vietnamese students on financial fraud prevention
The DGB Financial Group from the Republic of Korea (RoK) has partnered with the Vietnamese Students Association in Korea (VSAK) to offer programs aimed at protecting Vietnamese students in the RoK from financial fraud. On October 16, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), outlining plans to develop financial initiatives to safeguard the students from scams, particularly phishing, which has increasingly targeted international students.
Since July, the financial group has been collaborating with the VSAK to train four Vietnamese students to lead financial education programs, which were launched in August. These programs, delivered in Vietnamese, cover essential topics like phishing prevention, bank transactions, and foreign exchange, to equip students with the necessary financial knowledge.
Hwang Byung-woo, CEO of DGB Financial Group, expressed the group's commitment to helping Vietnamese students enhance their financial understanding through various programs.
DGB Financial Group, based in Daegu, also owns Daegu Bank, a major regional bank. In November 2023, the group signed its first business cooperation agreement with a foreign company—FPT Software, part of Vietnam's FPT Group—marking a significant step in its international collaboration efforts.
