Vietnamese arrivals in Japan set record high
The number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan in the first 11 months of 2023 reached a new record of nearly 537,00, surpassing the previous record of over 495,000 visitors achieved in 2019.
According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, Japan is one of the preferred foreign destinations for Vietnamese holidaymakers, while Vietnam also attracts a significant number of Japanese tourists. In the first 11 months of 2023, Vietnam hosted nearly 530,000 Japanese visitors.
The representative office of the Japan National Tourism Organization in Vietnam has announced plans to take measures to increase the number of Japanese visitors to Vietnam in 2024. The office will collaborate with organizations and individuals in the industry to implement the Japanese Government’s three new tourism strategies: "sustainable tourism development," "increase in tourism consumption," and "regional attraction." These strategies aim to promote tourist exchange between the two countries.
In the previous month, Vietnam and Japan agreed to elevate their relationship to a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.” This enhanced partnership is expected to provide opportunities for increased exchanges and travel between the two countries in the future.
