HCM City places great importance on developing science and technology, mobilising the intellectual resources of Vietnamese people worldwide and creating favourable conditions for them to contribute to the nation’s development, according to vice chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyễn Văn Dũng.
HCM City places a strong emphasis on advancing science and technology, while also tapping into the intellectual potential of Vietnamese individuals worldwide, according to Nguyễn Văn Dũng, vice chairman of the municipal People's Committee. Dũng highlighted the city's commitment to fostering an environment that enables these individuals to contribute to the nation’s growth and development.
Speaking at the "Vietnam Forum: The Moment," held at Hồng Bàng International University from August 16 to 17, Dũng underscored the vital role played by intellectuals, scientists, and artists, both in Việt Nam and abroad. The two-day event was organized by the HCM City Peace and Development Foundation (HPDF) and aimed to connect Vietnamese intellectuals, scientists, and artists from across the globe.
The forum provided a platform for experts, cultural figures, and youth from within and outside Việt Nam to share their insights and ideas. It featured over 70 speakers, all leading authorities in fields such as economics, culture, education, and the arts. Their shared experiences and lessons contributed to promoting Việt Nam’s image on the international stage.
Dũng emphasized the city government's ongoing efforts to create favorable conditions for all Vietnamese, regardless of where they live, to apply their intellect, talent, and creativity to the country’s progress. He acknowledged the high aspirations and noble goals of these individuals, noting their deep desire to support the nation and overcome challenges.
In particular, Dũng commended the concept of developing an electronic map that showcases the talents and accomplishments of Vietnamese people worldwide. Such initiatives, he said, highlight the diverse ways in which Vietnamese individuals, whether living inside or outside the country, can make meaningful contributions to their homeland.
During the forum, the organizing committee presented the findings of a project that surveyed Việt Nam’s national brand and the identity of its people. Additionally, they unveiled an electronic mosaic titled "Colorful Vietnam: Illuminating Faces of Vietnamese People Worldwide," which celebrated the vibrant achievements and outstanding contributions of Vietnamese individuals across various fields.
