Nine Vietnamese students who excelled in their 2019-2020 academic year have been honoured at a ceremony recently held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Paris, France.
The nine students, comprising five boys and four girls, are currently studying mathematics, astronomy, medicine, and biology at universities and institutes in France.
Addressing the awards ceremony, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang expressed his desire to see an increasing number of Vietnamese students receive honour, making a practical contribution to the fatherland in future.
He hailed the Union of Vietnamese students in France (UEVF) and the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) for their initiatives to honour the excellent students, an event which he said will encourage many other young students to obtain higher results in their study.
The UEVF and the AVSE Global have jointly organized annual event to honour excellent Vietnamese students in France since 2009. Up to 40 Vietnamese students had been honoured through the function.
Due to the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, a ceremony to honour the nine students in 2019 was postponed until 2021.
The next awards ceremony will take place in September this year.
