NA Chairman meets ambassadors, heads of overseas representative agencies
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue conducted a meeting in Hanoi on December 21 with a delegation from Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, during the 32nd Diplomatic Conference.
Chairman Hue highlighted the significant achievements of diplomatic efforts, emphasizing their role in advancing bilateral and multilateral relations. The diplomatic activities of the National Assembly, particularly those led by the Chairman and Vice Chairpersons, have transformed parliamentary diplomacy into a key avenue for foreign relations, contributing to robust cooperation with other nations. This has enhanced Vietnam's international standing, especially in political, diplomatic, socio-economic, and scientific-technical aspects. The diplomatic endeavors have also mobilized external resources for addressing the COVID-19 pandemic and fostering economic, trade, and investment collaborations.
Chairman Hue urged ambassadors and heads of diplomatic representative agencies to continue building a professional, comprehensive, and modern diplomatic sector, aiming to elevate Vietnam's reputation on the global stage. The National Assembly and its leaders will prioritize the diplomatic sector in decision-making processes, ensuring that Vietnam's diplomatic standing aligns with the nation's considerable potential, prosperity, position, and international prestige, as outlined in the 13th National Party Congress.
Minister Son affirmed that, in addition to participating in the 32nd Diplomatic Conference, ambassadors will actively collaborate with ministries, agencies, localities, and businesses to gather information and specific recommendations. This approach aims to fulfill diplomatic tasks assigned by the Party and State, effectively addressing the country's development needs.
